75 in dimes...

Penang on Franklin Street had no idea what it had coming when the food ladies arrived. We are a nice group of people in my opinion, but when you have service that is rushed and you are expected to know what type of 'heat' you want your dish to be - yours truly gets a bit testy.

The food is good if you are willing to put up with very poor service - that is except for the one good waiter - we had THREE people wait on us and only one was competent enough to be of some assistance.

Don't pay with cash if at all possible you get most of your money back in change - specifically dimes!

I would give the overall experience a 4 and that is high because the food was good – it is the only saving grace!

Food Club begins its journey....

with a trip to Penang on Franklin Street tomorrow night, 7 pm sharp. For those who were hoping for some dim sum this go-round, I have unfortunately discovered that the real dim sum at Hong Kong only happens on the weekend. Hopefully the heavily themed Penang will at least satisfy our Asian (or, in this case, asian fusion) cravings.

Wasn't the movie Return to Paradise set in Penang? I think the main character was sentenced to death by hanging. Watch it and get in the mood.

Debo's Favorite Food

Since this club is dedicated to food, I want to share my passion for PEEPS. These delectible marshmellow chicks and bunnies are famous for their goey, sugary goodness. According to the JustBorn website: www.marshmellowpeeps.com, the next round of PEEPS will be appearing for Valentines day. Are you looking for the perfect V-day gift for Debo? Look no further than . . .

Where will our journey take us?

Do you have an ideal location for Foodclub? Please offer your suggesion with link to the establishment's website and/or a map.
